Abstract

|
Preliminary experiment of four auxiliary and two orthotopic canine hepatic allotransplantation was undertaken in this laboratory in 1974.
Starzl´s method was followed with some modifications for the. allotransplantation. All dogs were treated with azathioprine and prednisolone. In one dog which survived eighteen days, the aortography and serial liver scanning were taken for the study of functional distribution of the auxiliary liver. This case died of portal thrombosis of the auxiliary liver following complete ligtion of the host´s portal vein on the 13th postoperative day.
